If a new survey is to be believed, there’s a decent chance it happened on someone’s vacation.
Apparently, there’s something called ‘tourist syndrome,’ used to describe people acting out or behaving badly while traveling. ​​

The Snapshot
A new survey conducted by Radical Storage found that slightly more than 2 in 5 respondents (41%) admitted to cheating while traveling.
That’s a huge proportion!
According to the survey, that’s just a shade under the percentage of people who admit to breaking the law while on vacay, which was 42.5% of respondents.

The survey also explored a suite of other misbehaviors that people get up to while abroad, like posing inappropriately with statues or stealing or picking plants they weren’t supposed to:

The Lesson
It’s no secret that social context plays a huge role in people’s behavior. When all of that changes — when people feel like no one is watching — they’re much more likely to act according to impulse.
Which isn’t to say that a vacation guarantees cheating — just that it may seriously lower the internal and external barriers to infidelity in many people.

So, if you’re in a monogamous relationship and concerned about one of you getting some action on the side? Consider traveling together. Then you can act out by having hot, uninhibited vacation sex.
